There are some very encouraging indicators in the numbers reported in the MLS this week. First of all, the inventory is down for the third consecutive week. Among the best news is that the number of short sale listings declined for the first time in at least 2 months, and the listings with Notice of Defaults declined for the second consecutive week. The number of homes reported sold in the past week was the most in over 2 years. However, REO listings have increased slightly.
